How to Regrow Thinning Edges Naturally

A guide for women with thinning edges & traction alopecia. Our ayurvedic hair growth oil is formulated to nourish the scalp, support weakened follicles, and help restore thinning edges. Consistency is key to visible results.

How to Use

  • Apply 3–4 times a week. Ideally, every 2nd day.
  • Use a small amount of the oil on the thinning edges and affected areas.
  • Massage gently for 3–5 minutes to boost circulation.
  • A little oil goes a long way. Do not wash it off.
  • Use for 3–12 weeks to see improvement. Some people see results sooner than others; just be patient and consistent.

Daily Edge Care

  • Keep edges moisturized; please avoid dry hair and dirt buildup.
  • Cleanse/shampoo your hair gently 1–2 times a month.
  • Avoid brushing edges harshly. Limit the use of edge control to lay your edges or avoid using it completely if you can.
  • Wear satin scarves or bonnets at night. This is such a game-changer.

Healthy Hair Habits

  • Keep styles loose, no tight braids, wigs, or ponytails. If possible, braid your natural hair, avoid adding heavy synthetic hair extensions, and avoid extremely thin or heavy braids.
  • Take breaks between protective styles, and do not braid back-to-back.
  • Reduce the use of heat on your hair or avoid blow-drying completely, and if you must blow-dry your hair, use a heat protectant and a low heat setting. Blow drying leaves your hair more brittle and weak than it is in its natural coily state.
  • Avoid braiding dry hair; blow-drying and then applying oil before braiding will damage your hair in the long run. Ideally, moisturize (with water or hair tonic/mist), apply a hair growth oil followed by a hair butter, then braid your hair. That way, your hair won’t break when it shrinks while braided.
  • Please continue to moisturize your hair even when it is braided. Mix water, a moisturizing leave-in conditioner, and an oil, and spray it on your hair to prevent it from drying out. Do this preferably at night, then wrap your hair in a satin scarf or bonnet before bed.
  • Eat nutrient-rich foods (iron, protein, zinc).
  • Reduce stress and stay hydrated.

Avoid These

  • Tight braids, using glue, and heavy wigs that pull or damage edges.
  • Excessive gel, alcohol-based products, or slicking your hair with gels and a brush daily. Embrace your hair in it natural state and you will have a much easier time growing it and caring for it.
  • Constant brushing or tugging at the hairline.
  • Sleeping on cotton pillowcases.
